Privacy Policy
Who we are
Signalscope is a privacy-first cellular and Wi-Fi signal analyzer with a live dBm signal gauge, cell tower details, a Wi-Fi channel analyzer, a coverage map, and a speed test, operated by Snowah. For any privacy question, contact hello@snowah.com.
We are the data controller for the processing described here under the GDPR.
What this policy covers
This policy explains what the Signalscope mobile app does with information. It does not cover third-party services that have their own policies, which we link where relevant.
What we collect and why
Signalscope is built to keep your data on your device. We collect as little as possible:
- Your signal, network, cell-tower and Wi-Fi readings, the logging sessions and CSV exports you create, and your app settings, all stored locally on your device and never sent to us or anyone else.
- Your approximate or precise location, which Android requires to read cell-tower identity and scan nearby Wi-Fi. It is used only on your device to show nearby towers and coverage, and is never transmitted to us or stored off your device.
- Anonymous, aggregated usage analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase) and crash diagnostics (Firebase Crashlytics), tied only to an anonymous app-install identifier, not to your name or an account. Collection is disabled in debug builds.
- No advertising identifiers and no account data are collected.
Legal bases (GDPR Article 6)
- Performance of our agreement with you (providing the app and its core features).
- Your consent, for optional diagnostics and, where applicable, personalised advertising; you can withdraw consent at any time in the app or device settings.
- Our legitimate interests in keeping the app secure, stable, and free of abuse, balanced against your rights.
- Compliance with legal obligations, such as tax records for purchases.
Service providers and recipients
We share data only with processors that help us run the app:
- Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics), for anonymous usage and stability reporting.
- Cloudflare, whose public speed-test endpoints (speed.cloudflare.com) measure your connection when you run a speed test; they receive no personal data from you.
- OpenStreetMap, which serves the map tiles shown on the coverage map.
- Google Play, for app distribution and updates.
International transfers
Some providers may process data outside your country. Where they do, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep data
On-device data lasts only as long as the app is installed. Diagnostics are retained for a short period in aggregated form.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, and port your data, and to object to certain processing. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Signalscope needs no account and keeps your readings, logs and location on your device, so deleting the app removes everything. Your location is never stored off-device. The only data that leaves the app is the anonymous analytics and crash diagnostics tied to your app install; for full details see Delete your Signalscope data.
Signalscope has no account, and your readings, logs and location stay on your device. To remove everything, see Delete your Signalscope data.
Children
These apps are not directed to children under the age required by your local law for digital consent, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Security
We use industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect information. No method is perfectly secure, but we work to keep risk low.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected here with a new date. Last updated 19 May 2026.
